About Greenwood Village

The Colorado Rocky Mountains provide a wonderful backdrop for those in Greenwood Village. Greenwood Village, CO is located south of the city of Denver, in Arapahoe County. It is a popular place to raise a family as residents can enjoy parks, trails and landscaped streets. Greenwood Village is home to a landscaped office park called, The Denver Tech Center, more commonly known as the DTC. It surrounds the I-25 corridor south of I-225. This allows residents of Greenwood Village opportunities for short commutes to their workplaces and businesses.

The population of Greenwood Village is around 15,000. Originally the Greenwood Village area was a rural community with dairy farms, orchards and other farming ventures. As the city of Denver grew during the 1950's, families moved to the Greenwood Village area for a better quality of life, seeking a more rural area to raise their families. Others had homes in the Greenwood Village area for summer vacations. Rolland Enos helped establish Greenwood Village as a town in 1950.

In the 1960's, George Wallace "...had a vision to create a place where people could work, live and recreate in harmony." (According to Ray Bullock, Vice President of Operations of the Denver Tech Center) Consequently he developed the Denver Tech Center, or DTC as an attractive and landscaped Office Park. The businesses in the DTC along with other businesses in Greenwood Village provide a solid commercial tax base for many high quality services for residents and the business community to enjoy.

Greenwood Village, Colorado hosts many businesses and corporations. Some of corporations located in Greenwood Village are First Data Corp, G.H. Phipps Construction Co, Great-West Life & Annuity Insurance Co, Teletech, Newmont Mining Corporation, Tw Telecom Inc, and Humana.

Greenwood Village also contains quality restaurants, shops and entertainment. Other support businesses including Medical and Dental Practices, insurance companies, banks, and Auto Repair business are also found in Greenwood Village.
